Fundraiser in memory of Fabrizio Murtas
Fabrizio Murtas, a great sailing enthusiast and physicist at CERN and the National Institute of Nuclear Physics, passed away suddenly this summer while on vacation in his beloved Sardinia.
Friends and colleagues, infected by Fabrizio's generosity, have opened a fundraiser to support the projects of the accessible sailing school of the‘ASD Peepul Sport Onlus.
Projects that promote autonomy, equal opportunities and social inclusion of people with special needs through sailing and the sea, and which Fabrizio would surely have loved.
With the funds raised, we will purchase an inflatable boat to take children and young people with special needs out to sea.
The dinghy will be named "Admiral Murtas," his nickname, so that Fabrizio's memory will live on in the eyes and smiles of sailing course participants.
